Kakobuy for Beginners: Your First Order Step by Step

Never used a shopping agent before? This is the whole first-order journey in plain English, with the common beginner mistakes called out so you avoid them.

Step 1 — Register

Create a free account with a real email you check — you'll need it for verification and password recovery.

Step 2 — Submit a product link

Copy a link from Taobao, Tmall, 1688 or JD and submit it as a purchase order. If a link can't be read automatically, fill in the details manually — accuracy matters, because Kakobuy buys exactly what you enter. On 1688, watch for minimum order quantities.

Step 3 — Pay for the item

Pay the product price plus any China-side shipping. Top up your balance first (Wise/Alipay/WeChat are cheapest) so you avoid per-order card fees and never hold up an order.

Step 4 — Warehouse receipt & QC

When the seller ships to the warehouse, staff inspect appearance, size and style and weigh the item. You can view free QC photos — and buy a personalized photo to confirm a measurement. Remember QC does not verify authenticity or electronics.

Step 5 — Submit a parcel & choose a line

Once items show “can submit parcel”, select them together (this is how you consolidate), enter your address, and pick a shipping line by price, speed and whether tax is included. Freight is billed on chargeable weight.

Step 6 — Pay freight & track

Pay the international freight, add insurance if you want cover, then track the parcel from “My Parcel”. International tracking updates lag, so quiet periods are normal.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Shipping each order separately instead of consolidating.
  • Trusting label sizes instead of centimetre measurements.
  • Forgetting a required tax number and getting the parcel held.
  • Letting the balance run empty so a parcel waits on payment.

Frequently asked questions

Register, submit a product link, pay for the item, let the warehouse receive and QC it, then submit a consolidated parcel, choose a shipping line, pay freight and track it home.
You can read guides and browse spreadsheet categories without an account. You only need to register to place a purchase order.
Shipping orders separately instead of consolidating them into one parcel — it’s usually the biggest unnecessary cost.
